Cash flow forecasting, Wichita

Know your cash runway thirteen weeks out, every week.

A rolling 13-week cash flow forecast built from your bank data, updated every Monday, with your runway in months at the top. It starts with the fixed-fee cash review and carries on inside CFO Monthly.

Sound familiar

  • Payroll is Friday and it depends on one customer paying on Thursday.
  • The P&L says you made money last quarter. The bank balance disagrees.
  • Someone asked if you can afford the next hire and you said you would check.

Or call (316) 555-0179. Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Book a 13-week cash review

Three details. A partner calls within one business day to set a date and tell you which bank exports to bring.

Fixed fee $1,950, illustrative. Nothing is charged until we agree a date in writing.

How it runs

Three steps, then every Monday.

  1. 01

    The cash review

Read-only bank access and your last twelve months. Theo builds the first model and finds the tight weeks. Fixed fee, two-hour review.

  2. 02

    The weekly update

Every Monday the actuals replace last week's forecast and the runway number moves. You get one page by noon.

  3. 03

    The monthly decision meeting

A partner walks through what changed, the scenarios you asked for, and the one or two decisions the numbers point at.

What it shows

One number at the top: months of runway.

Runway is cash on hand plus what is coming in, less what is going out, measured in months at the current burn. Press a scenario to see how one decision moves it.

Base case: 11.6 months of runway. Tightest week is week 5, when cash dips under the minimum.

What is included

What you get every week.

  • Cash in, by customerReceipts forecast from your open invoices and each customer's real payment habits, not their terms.
  • Cash out, by vendorPayroll, rent, loan payments, tax deposits and the big vendors, week by week.
  • Runway in monthsThe headline figure, with the week the balance would cross your minimum.
  • Variance from last weekWhat came in late, what went out early, and why the forecast moved.
  • Scenarios on requestA hire, a contract, a machine, a price change. Modelled before you commit.
  • Lender viewThe same model reshaped for your banker when you need a line or a loan. See loan packages.

Fair questions

What owners say before they start.

“We already have a budget.”

A budget is a plan for the year. A 13-week forecast is what will actually be in the bank on each Friday. Most companies need both, and the forecast is the one that catches a short week.

“Our banker does this.”

Your banker looks at your numbers to make a credit decision. We build the forecast for you, so you see the problem before the bank does.

“Our bookkeeper can do it.”

A good bookkeeper records what happened. Forecasting needs someone looking ahead and asking what changes. If the books themselves are late, start with a fractional controller.

The detail

Built from your bank, not from a template.

The model starts from your actual bank transactions and open invoices, so the first version already reflects how your customers really pay. A customer on net 30 who pays in 52 days is forecast at 52.

For suppliers whose orders follow a customer's build rate, the forecast carries the rate change through to cash weeks before it shows in the P&L. We set that up as standard on the aerospace and manufacturing suppliers page.

Cash flow forecasting questions

Not answered here? Call (316) 555-0179 and ask a partner.

Q01What is a 13-week cash flow forecast?

A week-by-week projection of cash coming in and going out for the next quarter, rolled forward every week. Thirteen weeks is long enough to see a problem and short enough to be accurate.

Q02How long until we see the first forecast?

Usually ten business days from read-only bank access to the two-hour review, as part of the fixed-fee cash review.

Q03What do you need from us?

Read-only bank access, your accounting file, open invoices and bills, and twenty minutes on what is coming up: hires, purchases, contracts.

Q04Can we stop after the cash review?

Yes. You keep the model. Most owners continue weekly inside CFO Monthly, but nothing obliges you to.

Q05Does the forecast tell us whether to borrow?

It shows when and how much cash you would need. Whether to borrow is your decision, and the terms are your lender's. We do not arrange loans.

Q06Is the runway number exact?

No forecast is. It is updated with actuals every week, so the error stays small and visible. The variance page shows where it was wrong and why.

Next step

See which week gets tight before it does.

The 13-week cash review is a fixed $1,950: your bank data in, a working model and your runway number out, reviewed with a partner in a two-hour session. Three details in the form, or one call.
